It was still pretty early in the morning as Kit sat on the edge of the fountain in the courtyard. There weren't many people around, after all it was early. The foreign boy wasn't much of an over-achiever with his classes or anything, it was just that it was one of the places he could go to when he needed to talk on the phone and didn't want to disturb his roommate. A soft smile tugged on his lips as he nodded a little, though the person on the other end of the line couldn't see him. With what he considered an annoying, slightly giggled laugh, he said, "Ja, Mutti, wir werden später reden. Tschüs." With an inaudible sigh, the tall, skinny boy closed his phone and slipped it back into his bag. As much as he loved his mother, and he did dearly, it was sometimes annoying with how much she would worry about him. Sure, he was her only child, and sure, he was a long way from home; but, still. It wasn't like he was an infant or something to that effect. After sitting there for another few moments, Kit pulled out his notebook, where he kept all his personal writings, and placed it on his lap. He might as well do something productive with his free time. The skinny teen thought about texting one of his friends to come save him from early morning boredom, but he didn't want to wake any of them. He knew he hated having his own sleep disturbed, so why would he do that to someone else? It was very... well, he forgot the word, but it wasn't nice and he didn't want to do it. Kristofer's focus didn't stay on his writing for too long, though, which wasn't too much of a surprise to anyone who might know him, and he soon found himself absently doodling a small little design on his forearm matching the one on the back of his neck, only more flowery and ornate. Kit was easily growing very bored, and he wasn't a fan of being alone, both of which had him fidgeting a little in place, and he at least took care enough to shift forward a bit more so he didn't accidentally topple over into the water or something. He rather liked his red and yellow outfit and didn't want to go change. It made him feel like a bit of a nerd, but he honestly could care less. Those comments weren't the ones that bothered him. Sighing softly, Kit stopped his drawing to look around a little, hoping to spot someone familiar enough to not feel awkward if he just went up to them to start a conversation... or give them a hug, because hugs were awesome and everyone needed a hug in the morning. It made them easier to handle. tag;; open word count;; 478 notes;; translation: "yeah, mom, we will talk later. bye." slightly boring but meh, starter posts are usually always failish. It was early, that much Ashton could tell as the light streamed through his dorm window. Tossing and turning all night had left him exhausted, only getting a few hours sleep, if that. But it was something he had grown used to over the years, not being able to get a sufficient enough shut eye. There wasn’t much point of him trying to catch up now, not while it was now setting to brighten up. And staying in his dorm wasn’t much of an option, as it usually bored him to tears, being stuck , trapped in the small room. It was suffocating, in a sense, as Ash much preferred to be outdoors, though hidden from view most of the time.
Besides he was gagging for a smoke. So going outside seemed like the perfect solution to his problems, though it would not ease the boredom completely. He ran through ideas of what to do with his spare time through his head as he teased his hair out of the knotted mess it was. Frowning, he glanced in the mirror, not too happen with his less than perfect appearance. He continued to run his hands through his hair, taking a comb to free some of the knots. Satisfied, he pulled on a clean t-shirt and jeans and was ready to go. As to here, he wasn’t sure yet. Closing the door softly behind him, the teen wandered down the hallways, admiring the silence.
It was usually alot louder, later on. It was so peaceful at this time, which suited him fine. Loud sudden noises didn’t bode well in him. Nor did sudden social interactions. Luckily for him, there was not many other students milling around. No uncomfortable conversations needed, which as a good thing. Heading outside, Ash dug deep in his pocket, fishing out a cigarette and his lighter. It was too bad he did not have weed left, he would have to score some later on when he actually had some money on him.
Raising the cigarette to his lips, he lit it, inhaling then exhaling. It was something he desperately needed, before class later which put him in a foul mood as he had to concentrate, not usually his forte. Taking yet another drag, the boy’s blue eyes scanned the seemingly empty courtyard. The silence was eerie in a way, until a couple of faces were soon spotted as he walked on further round the courtyard.
Yawning, Ash was heading down the path, going to sit by an empty bench when he noticed a stream of bright colour by the fountain. He had to smile, and have agues who it was, as he could tell just by the hair. Ash smirked slightly as he wandered on over to his friend. It was quite odd, he found, that he had a close friend, especially someone who was the complete opposite of him, and was in the Photoshop clique, Richard’s High version of school royalty. But Ash never judged by cliques, he couldn’t really care less of what anyone thought of him.
He took another drag of his cigarette, sitting just a few ways away from Kit. ”You certainly look, er colourful? Love the shirt” he stifled a small quiet laugh, his eyes glancing over his friend’s red and yellow attire. It was a bit too bright, for ash’s tastes. He was more into dark colours, obviously. ”What you up to?” he asked curiously and slightly quietly, shuffling on the side of the fountain awkwardly as he puffed away on his cigarette.

The skinny boy's face brightened into a smile when he saw one of his closest friends starting his direction, and he waited until the other teen was closer before saying, "Hallo, Ash." He flicked his long hair back out of his eyes while the other boy sat down near him on the fountain edge, making him unable to keep from smiling again because having someone around always made him a lot happier, especially the current company. In the relatively short time Kit had been at the school, he'd made quite a lot of friends, but Ash was definitely one of the closest. Despite all the differences between them, some more obvious than others, the two of them had become friends quite easily. "You certainly look, er colourful? Love the shirt." Kit giggled softly in reply, his nose wrinkling a little as he did, internally rolling his eyes at himself. Could his laugh be any more annoying? Well, he guessed it could. His own mother's wasn't all that attractive either, and she often snorted when she laughed. His father blamed it on inhaling too much paint thinner. "Danke schön, liebling," he replied with a smile, taking care to only use words he knew that he'd translated already. It was way too early to be losing people in conversation. It'd only frustrate him and the entire day would end up shot no matter how much he'd act like it wasn't. Mornings were not a good time to end up all flustered. When Ash asked what he was up to, Kit took a few moments to make sure that he was going to be replying in English. It wouldn't be the first, and he doubted the last, that he started prattling off in German to someone on accident, but that wasn't very conductive to the not getting frustrated thing. It was always more difficult after a conversation with someone from back home, because it was almost like he had to literally force himself to even think in another language, almost as if he were flipping a switch. "Nothing much. I needed to call home so I came here. I tried writing next, but..." His honey colored gaze fell to his arm where the drawing in pen stood out vividly against his pale skin and he laughed softly before looking back to Ash. "You look tired... bad night?" Kit wasn't a stranger to insufficient nights sleep himself, but it was becoming more a rarity, something he was grateful for. It was a lot harder to be typically bubbly self if he was always exhausted. Of course, a cup of coffee and an energy drink in the mornings usually helped that as well. Sodas were the next decent option, and he'd usually get one from the vending machines in the dorms if he was dead tired and couldn't be bothered to run to the BP or the Starbucks, though the Starbucks was his absolute favorite. The easiest and best way to get on Kit's good side in the mornings was to get him some Starbucks. It was like heaven in a disposable cup as far as he was concerned. As it was, he'd had one of the bottled, cold Starbucks drinks from the minifridge in his room while walking from his dorm to the courtyard that morning. It never took him too long to polish off those, especially the vanilla ones. tag;; open/Ash word count;; 566 notes;; Was not a bad post. Ashton was never outgoing. He kept himself to himself, unless he really had to. Bu even that could get boring once in a while. He wasn’t sure how long exactly he had been at the school, maybe a year or so now. He had made a couple of friends, not particularly close ones, because he failed at opening up to anyone but...himself. But there was one exception, as he was spending more time with perhaps someone that was unlike him in so many ways. Yet, he didn’t seem to care. Ash was not sure why he felt so comfortable around Kit, perhaps it was his sunny attitude and outgoing personality.
The teenager balanced himself quaintly on the side of the fountain, exhaling smoke as the German boy greeted him. Ash himself wasn’t fluent, in any other language; he was ignorant in that sense. But he knew a few phrases, from hanging around Kit a lot. Nether less, he didn’t really care when he rambled on in the language that he didn’t understand. It was sort of funny, when he did that. Though, not in the mocking sense, he wasn’t that cruel. He thought himself to be rather tolerant of others, though most people did tend to leave Ash alone.
Maybe it was because he was associated with the ’bad’ crowd. Bu in all honesty, the boy didn’t even count himself as being in a clique. Sure, he did hang around with them, only because they supplied. He was more free, in a sense, and happy to make friends with just about anyone, or no one at all.
Most of the time, Ashton was in his own world, day dreaming as per usual, he only came when he noticed his friend had started to talk again, answering the question that Ash had forgotten he had even asked. Ashton shook his head with a slight chuckle at the last of his friend’s comment, noticing the drawing on his arm. ”Nice design, but I’m afraid LA ink won’t be calling you any time soon” he teased, taking another drag of his cigarette with a playful grin. It was rare for Ashton to be this relaxed around someone, but he didn’t question it.
It was probably a good thing, to find company he was happy being in without feeling odd o judged upon. His eyes silently scanned the area, noticing just how early it was this morning. He normally did not like getting up early, but he couldn’t sleep, and honestly couldn’t remember when he had a proper night’s rest. He got by enough to function, and if rarely fell asleep in class. It was a common misconception that those that dabbled with drugs were lazy and complete stoners. Ash didn’t feel he was like that, he hated that label. He was tired and exhausted for other reasons, not because he was lazy. Not that he would ever let on.
He was caught slight off guard; he didn’t think his exhaustion was all that plain to see. He felt a slight rush of colour to his cheeks of which he tried to hide by turning his head slightly. ”Uh…couldn’t sleep, as per usual” he shrugged, biting his lip. ”I couldn’t really borrow some of your energy. I don’t know how you manage to be so loud at this time of morning” he laughed, joking, trying to take the spotlight off him for a second.

At the teasing remark from his friend, Kristofer giggled a little behind his hand, wrinkling his nose a little with a smile before gently nudging the other teen with his elbow. "So mean," he stated, though the smile on his face made it obvious he didn't really think that. Kris wasn't the type of person to take much teasing to heart, especially when it was teasing that was meant in good fun and not to be hurtful. There was nothing wrong with teasing a friend, at least he didn't think so. "Guess it's a good thing being a tattoo artist isn't my life's ambition, or you woulda just crushed it." Kit tried to fake a pout or something equally "hurt", but he couldn't stop from smiling. He was in much too good a mood for something like that. The weather was nice, he'd gotten to talk to his parents, and at that moment he was getting to spend time with who he considered his closest friend at the school. How could anything be bad right at the moment? It was going to be a good day, he could sense it. Of course, he was a little saddened as he heard that Ash couldn't sleep again. Being friends with the other teen, Kit had picked up on that. It wasn't something he liked to hear, because it meant something bad for someone he cared about, and that was not okay in his point of view. A slight smile tugged on his lips, though, when he noticed that Ash was trying to hide a slight blush. Kit thought it was endearing, cute even; and, he couldn't help but lean over and squeeze hug his friend with one arm as he said, "I am sorry about that. Maybe next time." Pulling away into his own personal bubble again, Kit smiled and brushed his dark hair back out of his eyes, giggling with a slight nose wrinkle at his closest friend's words. "I'll let you in on a little secret, Stern," he stated, using his favorite nickname for the elder boy. Kit wasn't quite sure where he'd come up with it, but he was beyond trying to question those things anymore. Instead, he just went with it. Crooking his index finger a little in a motion for the other teen to lean closer, Kit smirked slightly before continuing, "There's this amazing energy enhancing drug I take. It is called 'coffee', and you can find it at most places. That's how I manage it." With another soft laugh, Kit smiled and nodded, ignoring the pang of irritation at the sound of his own voice. As much as the boy loved to talk and sing, when he spoke, his accent annoyed him like none other. He'd talked about it with Ash before, one of the many times he'd gotten frustrated with himself because he'd had to give up trying to explain something or another to someone. It had been terribly embarrassing, and he hated when it happened. tag;; open/Ash word count;; 501 notes;; lies D: you do not fail outfit;; clickitlikewhoa credit;; form/graphics, ali. lyrics, tokio hotel.

Ash didn’t feel the need to hide nor put his guard straight up when he was with friends. He was normally not the one to be overly talkative, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t feel comfortable with his friends. In their company, he felt safe and would often joke around, because that was just how he was. Ashton couldn’t be serious if he tried, except when it came to music. That was where most of his little focus went. Even during conversations he would end up day dreaming, which was often picked up by his friends and pointed out. Though he didn’t seem to mind, as he knew when they too were joking.
Ashton chuckled at his friend’s response, glad it wasn’t taken the wrong way, as he had a habit of riling up others without realising he had done so. It was hard to get his humour sometimes, hence why he kept to himself and felt awkward around those he didn’t know too well. But with Kit, it was different. His genuine side came out, in all its immature glory. He had to grin, as it was taken in all good humour. ”That’s what I do best” he grinned sarcastically, barely paying much attention. There was a reason why, but he did not feel like dwelling on it for too long as it made him incredibly awkward. Which was odd since he was his closest friend. Not that he could tell him everything , as he couldn’t help but be a bit guarded, just another personality trait.
The teen couldn’t say hiding his inner emotions was easy, but it was necessary. He could not afford to lose a friend, all because he said or did something stupid. Trying not to blush like an idiot, Ash just shrugged after his friend briefly hugged him. ”Maybe” he mumbled quietly, though he knew that it was not possible, especially after years of trying.
The lack of sleep seemed like no big of a deal to Ashton, as he was coping fine, wasn’t he? For one, he was at this school, doing what he wanted. That was enough to spur him on and try to do well, despite the odd dabbling in drugs. Of which he did not find to be a big problem. No one else did either, mainly because they did not seem to care. Perhaps his adoptive parents would, but they didn’t know, so it was all good for now.
Right now, he was a bit distracted, but that was normal for him. He was only brought back down to earth when his friend spoke again. He chuckled as he called him that, used to it by now and his friend’s ways. It was sort of cute in a sense, not that he would ever say it. A light smirk was on Ash’s lips as he leaned in, only slightly, his smirk now turning to a smile as he shook his head at the same time.
” Valid point that I just simply didn’t think of before. I can’t stand the stuff any way” he shrugged, a little sarcasm out in there for good measure, pushing back a stray strand of his hair. ”Though...maybe I’ll just steal yours, you’re too hyper for your own good. Graffiting yourself, new low of boredom?” he laughed shaking his head, that smile still on his lips.

'Valid point that I just simply didn’t think of before. I can’t stand the stuff any way.' Kit gaped at his friend with an incredulous look as he shook his head a little, smiling slightly all the same. "I will never understand how come you do not like coffee. It is amazing," he stated with a soft laugh, scrunching his face up a little. Coffee was the only way that Kit was able to make it through the day, and deal with everything while still smiling. Kit was fairly sure that without the aid of coffee and other caffeine sources, he'd snap on a lot of people for their idiocy. 'Though...maybe I’ll just steal yours, you’re too hyper for your own good. Graffiting yourself, new low of boredom?' Kit gasped at the first part before shaking his head a little with a smile and a laugh. "Nuh-uh. You wouldn't like me if I didn't get my coffee. Besides, I'm plenty hyper for the both of us." Kit nodded a few times with a bright smile. He knew the first part was true, though. Kristofer wasn't the most friendly of people in the mornings before he got his coffee. He tried, though, if that was worth anything, especially when it was with his friends. He giggled a little at the 'new low of boredom' line and shrugged a little before bending over to dig through his bag a little. He pulled out the two sodas he'd grabbed for the day and offered one to Ash. "Yeah, maybe, but it was either my arm or the top of the fountain. I was feeling the administration would not be very happy at me for that." Kit giggled a little again, smiling softly as he flicked his hair back out of his eyes. "Trouble did not want I." Kit's brow furrowed after a long moment and he shook his head, denying the fact that a slight blush took over his face as he ducked his head a little to hide it behind his hair. With a soft, almost forced laugh to hide the fact he was frustrated and flustered yet again by his mix up. "Uhm... I meant I did not want trouble." Once Kit felt he had his flush under control again, he peeked out from behind his hair and smiled sheepishly at Ash. He'd been quite impressed by his lack of mistakes that morning, but that was ended in the error in word order he'd made only moments before. It was going to bug him for a while, whether he wanted it to or not. tag;; open/Ash word count;; 433 notes;; >:U stop telling lies outfit;; clickitlikewhoa credit;; form/graphics, ali. lyrics, tokio hotel.

It was funny, on how some people lives depended on caffeine, coffee in particular. He could see why though, as he wasn’t exactly brimming with energy. Nether less, he found out that there were substances that gave him energy, though he was honest he’d only dabbled with other drugs once at a party. Now that was different kind of high, that made him act very unlike himself, something he didn’t like. Plus it was expensive to say the least. Plus he saw what addiction did...especially since he tended to hang around with the ‘druggies’ . And it was something he didn’t wasn’t to get himself into, he was stronger than that, or at least he didn’t want succumb to that level.
He was happy, enough, he had friends and his music, enough to live for, for the moment. He had to chuckle, as he found himself feeling less stressed this morning. It seemed to always be that way, his friend put him in a good mood and his mind definitely was less clouded with annoying thoughts. And he wouldn’t have it any other way. He quite enjoyed his friend’s hyper attitude, however how silly and dramatic it was. Ashton laughed , shaking his head. ”Maybe I’d like you more.” he joked then shook his head again. ”Nah , i’d like you just as much. you’re right, definitely no need for me to be a coffee junkie too” he shrugged playing with his hair for a second.
He caught the soda can in his hand, though placed it on the side, for later. ”Come on, what’s wrong with a little rebellion?” he smirked, not that Ash was much of a troublemaker. He did pretty alright in school, and wasn’t necessarily into creating havoc. Though he been to detention a few times, usually because he was caught smoking weed on school property and perhaps that time when he poured paint into the very fountain they were sat at. Though that time, he was high...
He had to chuckle at his friend’s word mix up, though he felt bad. Ash couldn’t imagine how difficult it must be, to learn more than just the one language. He watched as his friend seemed to be a little embarrassed hiding behind his hair. It was rather cute, he had to admit..to himself. He couldn’t say that outloud without sounded like an idiot and making his own cheeks blush like mad. ” I think trouble..just has a habit of finding certain people. And sometimes, it’s just fun, you know?” he started, as Ashton eyed the fountain again. ”Though i do think that it could do with a makeover..hmm” he grinned sheepishly back to his friend.

"Maybe I’d like you more. Nah , i’d like you just as much. you’re right, definitely no need for me to be a coffee junkie too." Kris scrunched up his face up a little and shook his head at the first two statements before giggling softly again, flicking his hair back out of his eyes. "No, I don't think you would. I am not very nice then." Kit shook his head a little with a soft smile, though he knew it was true. That was why he rarely, if ever, spoke to anyone before he had at least some form of caffeine in his system. Whether it be soda or coffee, either one worked to wake him enough to be the happy, bubbly person that everyone knew. "Come on, what’s wrong with a little rebellion?" Kristofer hummed a little in response to the question, rolling his shoulder in a shrug. There wasn't anything wrong with it every now and then, but Kit wasn't all that fond of getting in trouble, especially alone. It was a lot more worth it if you had a friend laughing at your side. Otherwise it was just annoying and time consuming once and if you got caught.
Krissy was quite glad when his friend didn't do anything but laugh a little at his mix up. It definitely made things a little easier, though his stomach remained knotted and he still felt flustered. It was going to be a long morning, he bet. Classes would be tedious and annoying as he'd struggle to not let his early morning, slip up unsettle him enough to make forming simple sentences difficult. "I think trouble..just has a habit of finding certain people. And sometimes, it’s just fun, you know? Though i do think that it could do with a makeover..hmm." Kit nodded a little in agreement with trouble sometimes being fun. Like the time he and some of his friends had broke into the community pool after hours. That had been a lot of fun, though they got caught and threatened with being arrested for trespassing. Of course, the officer let them go with a simple warning and a threat of, "If I catch you again..." Of course, that had only made Kit want to go back, though he'd yet to do so. Maybe he'd talk Ash into it one night. Raising an eyebrow slightly, Kit glanced back over his shoulder at the fountain before looking to Ash once again. "A makeover how?" Kit was curious as to what exactly the other teen was thinking, but he was more than happy to help with whatever it was, too. tag;; open/Ash word count;; 439 notes;; saying you fail is lies. -liiiiiicks- all your arguments are invalid 'cause i said so ^^ outfit;; clickitlikewhoa credit;; form/graphics, ali. lyrics, tokio hotel.

Ashton just chuckled softly at his friend’s remark, knowing just how grumpy he was without a little caffeine in his system. He shook his head softly, not really saying anymore in the matter. He did not disagree, nor did it matter. Because Kit would always be Kit in his eyes, even without being hyperactive. Ash had quite the teasing by now as his mind was on other things. The boredom was getting to him, rather badly. But there was not much he could do at such short notice. For one, classes would bestarting and two, he was being rather lazy. So much so, that he didn’t feel like moving much from his spot.
Besides, he was happy in his friend’s company. So if an idea came to him, he would more than likely drag his friend into it, like always. His mind was like that, impulsive, goofy, and random at times. Not that it was a problem, as he enjoyed being this way instead of being serious and living a tedious life with no meaning other than work. Where was the fun in that? Ash was in no means completely reckless, but he was prone to pulling the odd prank once in a while and may breaking the boundaries and doing something considered illegal .
Of which, Ash did not care. If he got in trouble, he got in trouble, no big deal. But he still wouldn’t consider him to be a rebel or anything, just bored at times. He perhaps didn’t pay a lot of attention in school because his mind was often clouded with trying to sleep. He had tried not to sleep in class but there were times when eh dozed off and got a detention or two. It was still hard to even thinking about sleeping alone at night, something he tried his best not to recall right now.
Grinning, he pulled a marker out of his pocket and then glanced at his friend. ” You’ll see. Do you have any more markers or paint or...anything?” he asked before taking his friends back and tipping it out on the ground, picking up a couple of markers and started to draw on the fountain, the pictures…a little lewd in taste. He laughed to himself, fitting how rebellious he could be, even when not high.
